The Houston Community College System (HCCS), a member of United Educators Insurance, A Reciprocal Risk Retention Group (UE), has won a case at the United States Supreme Court in a unanimous ruling. The ruling supported the ability of publicly elected boards to verbally censure their members.
In 2013, David Wilson was elected to the Board of Trustees of HCCS. HCCS operates 23 community colleges in the Houston area. Wilson had a contentious relationship with the rest of the HCCS board, bringing multiple lawsuits to challenge the actions of the board.
