CICA Seeing High Demand for
International Conference

The Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA) will be holding its annual conference from March 6 to 8, 2022 at the JW Marriott Star Pass Hotel & Spa in Tucson, Arizona. The deadline for early bird registration, and to lock in the discounted room rate at the Marriott, is February 10, 2022.

CICA recently announced that they had expanded the exhibit hall for the conference due to increased demand.

“As we head into what looks like year 3 of dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic we are all feeling a little worn down in spite of the positive growth we have seen in the captive industry,” said CICA President Dan Towle. “Our hope is that people who attend our CICA Conference will go away with not only the latest industry updates and fresh ideas for their captives from our speakers and our exhibitors; they will also leave feeling energized by our inspiring keynote speakers and all the in-person networking.”

In addition to ample networking time, the conference will feature a range of educational topics from tips on fine-tuning a captive insurance company, utilizing artificial intelligence in a captive insurance environment, and how to drive profitability in a captive.
CICA has also made students and young professionals a major focus with yearly essay contest—the winners of which will present at the conference. CICA also has a committee focused on young professionals—the NEXTGen Committee—and another focused on women in the captive industry—Amplify Women. Both of those committees will be holding their own education and networking events at the conference.

“We recognize that times are still uncertain, and this can impact people’s availability. We have plans in place to ensure we can deliver our education sessions as planned in person. We have no plans for a virtual or hybrid event,” said Towle.
