An order of liquidation was filed for Hospitality Risk Retention Group, Inc. (Hospitality RRG) on April 8, 2021 in the Washington Unit of the Superior Court for the State of Vermont. Hospitality RRG was licensed by the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation (Vermont DFR) on October 24, 2016 to provide commercial automobile liability to Domino’s Pizza franchisees.
Hospitality RRG wrote $1.0 million in premium in 2016, with premium written increasing to $5.1 million by 2018. However, it was later determined that Domino’s required its franchisees to carry proof of rated insurance, and as the RRG was not rated it did meet the “the franchisees’ financial responsibility to Domino’s,” said Vermont Deputy Commissioner of Captive Insurance David Provost.
